If you fancy giving it a try then the best way to start is to join us at a weekend muster. Get in touch with us. There are few musters around the country where you'll not find a Slanning! You can join for a weekend of free camping on or near a historic site re-enacting a Civil War battle before enjoying a well-earned evening in a beer tent full of real ale. Contact us for more information if this appeals! We can suggest musters where you will find us in force - ‘None better!’ - and you will be able to borrow spare kit so you feel the part.

All this for only a shilling?

Sadly not! The king's shilling is not what it used to be. But membership fees are very reasonable. The SK does not charge members to attend any event. The membership fee covers you for as many events as you can attend and ‘Orders of the Daye’, the bi-monthly society newsletter.

The cost of temporary membership for a single muster is £10.00 and only one temporary membership can be taken in any year. However, if after you come along you decide to join the society then that £10.00 is deducted from your membership fee. In addition, if you join after 1st August then you will only have to pay a half yearly rate.

SK/17a Temporary Membership Form 

A completed application and cheque, payable to The Sealed Knot, for the membership fee should be sent to the Regimental Adjutant - not directly to the Sealed Knot. There is also small additional annual regimental subscription. This is £11.00 for a Family and £7.00 or an Individual/Young Persons membership. This needs to be in the form of a separate cheque payable to Sir Nicholas Slanning's Regiment.
